Patrick McGlashan is the founder and managing attorney of MLF. He started his legal career as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in 2006, where he practiced general corporate law as an associate until 2011. In the eight years before he joined S&C, Patrick owned and operated a financial planning practice at American Express Financial Advisors (currently, Ameriprise Financial). He worked as a Series 7 licensed stockbroker for four years before he joined AEFA.
Patrick has unique and wide-ranging experience advising companies and individuals after years of handling various types of corporate transactions. He is a skilled advisor to his clients on ways to address issues which are pivotal to executing transactions. His experience advising individuals enables him to provide creative solutions to the complex and sometimes contradictory goals clients face.
Patrick earned his undergraduate degree from the State University College at Oneonta and his law degree, summa cum laude, from Touro Law School. He also served 6 years in the New York Army National Guard, enlisting as a private during freshman year of college and retiring as a second lieutenant 2 years after he completed his degree in Business, Economics and Finance.
Patrick maintains memberships with various bar associations. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is a co-founder and the Chairman of Alpha Chamber of Commerce, Inc., an organization whose mission is to provide business education and networking opportunities for the benefit of American society and the African Diaspora. Jamaican born, Patrick is married, a father of two and resides in Queens, New York.
